Full Stack Software Engineer

Austin or New York
Full time

Work across the whole stack on the portal brokers use every day and the pricing engine behind it. You will ship in your first week.

Apply for this role

We are a small senior team building the software a group of operating businesses runs on. Pods of three to five own a surface end to end, which means you will pick the architecture, talk to the people using the thing, and watch what your change does to the business the week it ships.

The problems are the good kind of hard. Geospatial data, aerial imagery, document extraction, and pricing models running in production against real money. None of it is a prototype waiting for next year.

  • Work across the stack. Write clean, maintainable code with a bias toward reliability, performance, and simplicity.
  • Build what people actually touch. Partner with product and design on features brokers and operators use daily.
  • Go after the hard parts. Debug the strange failures, raise code quality, and make the system harder to break.
  • Own your work. Take a piece and carry it, while staying open to being told you are wrong.
  • Review and be reviewed. Code review, planning, and the arguments that get a team to shared understanding.
  • Make us faster. Bring the ideas that compound, not just the tickets that close.
  • Two or more years building full stack applications that real people used
  • A CS or EE background, a bootcamp, or production systems you can point to
  • TypeScript, JavaScript, and React on the front end; Node, Express, and REST APIs on the back; relational databases, Git, and AWS underneath
  • Fluency with modern AI development tools, and the judgment to know when to reach for them
  • Clear communication and a willingness to ask the obvious question
  • DevOps experience is a bonus, particularly if you like knowing how code behaves in production
  • Happy working in person or hybrid from the Austin office
